System
Alternate Designation YM-3; YM-III
Type Anti-Vehicle Mine
Manufacturer INA
Design The YM-3 has a telescopic carrying handle moulded into the bottom of the landmine and a large diameter filler plug on the side, above the handle position.
Pressure Plate The landmine has a slight dome pressure plate which is made of flexible plastic with a raised six-spoke wagon wheel pattern on top. The landmine has a crimp around the top edge where the landmine body meets the pressure plate.
Charge The landmine contains 5.62kg of 50:50 RDX/TNT and is actuated when the pressure of 450kg deforms the flexible plastic pressure plate long enough to release the cocked striker fuze. When the pressure plate is moved approximately 9mm downwards, it exerts pressure on the fuze.
Fuze Since rapid depression of the fuze will push the fuze casing straight down without any revolution the YM-3 is, therefore, resistant to blast over-pressure from explosive breaching systems.
