RAN-30X
The RAN-30X, also known as MM/SPS-791, is an Italian-made Leonardo X-band 2D shipborne multimode surveillance radar. It serves as a primary sensor for combined surface and air surveillance on patrol vessels or as a specialized anti-sea skimmer sensor on major surface combatants. The radar features a parabolic reflector antenna with a 1.2° beamwidth, mounted on a mechanically stabilized platform to compensate for roll and pitch. It generates two beams: a cosecant-squared pattern for general surveillance and a higher-gain pencil beam for anti-missile detection and over-the-horizon modes, with an instrumented range resolution of 25 to 200 km. The antenna, which can rotate at 3, 15, or 30 rpm, is also designed to accommodate an Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) antenna in a back-to-back configuration.
