Description

The RASAR (Real-time, Autonomous, Synthetic Aperture Radar) is an L-band airborne synthetic aperture radar system operating at frequencies between 1110 and 1390 MHz. It utilizes a quad-polarization antenna (HH, VV, HV, VH) and transmits an intrapulse modulated, linear frequency modulated pulse with a duration of approximately 200 microseconds. The system is housed in an aerodynamically shaped pod, measuring 45 inches in length and 8 inches in diameter, designed for under-wing mounting on an unmanned aerial system (UAS). The complete podded system weighs under 25 pounds, requires less than 150 watts of total power at 28 VDC, and offers a range resolution of 0.5 meters with an 80-degree beamwidth.
