92N6E “Grave Stone”
The 92N6E “Grave Stone” is an I/J-band multi-function phased-array engagement radar, trailer-mounted on a special MZKT-7930 (8x8) truck chassis. It features digital beam steering and is designed for use with the SA-21 “Growler” (S-400 “Triumf”) theatre defense missile system. As a direct successor to the 30N6E “Flap Lid” radar used with the S-300, the 92N6E incorporates new processors and digital technologies that double its missile range compared to the older variant. Its space-fed phased array antenna, similar to the AN/MPQ-53 “PATRIOT,” utilizes a complex monopulse horn feed and a microwave lens, resulting in low sidelobes for protection against noise jammers and anti-radar missiles. The 92N6E can simultaneously control up to 12 40N6 missiles against 6 targets at a range of up to 400 km, with each missile employing an active radar sensor for precise target position calculation (Track via Missile). For target acquisition, it can be paired with the 96N6E “Cheese Board” multi-mode radar for all altitudes, or the 76N6 “Clam Shell” FMCW radar for low-altitude targets, and is also compatible with passive radars.
