Description

The TASR (Terminal Airfield Surveillance Radar) is a modular, all-weather airport surveillance radar designed for both civil and military air traffic control (ATC) applications. It operates in the E-band (2700-2900 MHz) with a digital semiconductor module transmitter, an all-solid-state dual-redundant transceiver, and a dual-beam reflector antenna generating a cosecant squared pattern. The system offers configurations for fixed-base installations or trailer-mounted mobile tactical operations, featuring high-resolution digital color workstation displays and a plot extractor capable of processing up to 500 targets per antenna rotation. Digital radar signal processing ensures a false alarm rate of 10^-6 with an 80% probability of detection, contributing to improved reliability and availability compared to older vacuum tube technologies.
