Design
The VOG-17 projectile consists of a thin-walled steel body with a copper driving band. The projectile is colored black and has white markings stenciled on the side.
Propellant Chamber
They use the high/low principle of a small high-pressure propellant chamber and a much larger low-pressure expansion chamber, into which the expanding propellant gases flow and drive the grenade forward.
Fuze
The aluminum VMG point detonating (PD) fuze is armed by a setback-fired pyrotechnic delay.
Striker
A spring-loaded shutter pivots away to unlock the striker. It contains a coil of pre-fragmented wire and is filled with high-explosive (HE).
