Description
The F1 Russian Anti-Personnel Grenade is a high-explosive (HE), defensive, fragmentation, hand grenade, nicknamed the Limonka (lemon-like), used as an anti-personnel (AP) grenade which may also be used as part of a boobytrap.

Design
It is based on the French F1 grenade being introduced during World War II and subsequently redesigned post-war. It has a steel exterior that is notched to facilitate fragmentation upon detonation and to prevent slipping from the user's hands.
Fuze
Fuze variants are available which give delays between zero (instantaneous) and 13 seconds, specifically for use in boobytraps. The F1 grenades are shipped with shipping plugs installed, the fuzes are inserted once in the field.
Distance
The distance the grenade can be thrown is estimated at 30 to 45 meters.

The grenade has to be deployed from a defensive position to avoid harm.
