The AKSUNGUR Turkish Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) with its high payload capacity, is an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle System designed for continuous, day/night Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance, and Attack missions. It is equipped with EO/IR, SAR, and SIGINT payloads, as well as various air-to-ground weapons, and has a Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) capability. AKSUNGUR is powered by two turbocharged diesel engines, allowing it to conduct extended operations up to 40,000 feet. In November 2023, AKSUNGUR successfully completed its first flight with the TEI-PD170 engine and reached an altitude of 30,000 feet. Continuing its tests with the domestic engine, AKSUNGUR has achieved a flight endurance of 41 hours. As the longest-endurance UAV in its class, AKSUNGUR offers a unique advantage with its 1-ton payload capacity. In addition to its military applications, the AKSUNGUR UAV is also utilized in civilian operations, successfully performing tasks such as search and rescue and damage assessment in disaster scenarios, including earthquakes, floods, and fires.
