Description

The Ababil Iranian Anti-Personnel Mine is a high-explosive (HE), cylindrical, bounding, anti-personnel (AP), landmine which is designed to wound or kill by its fragmentation.

Operation On initiation of the landmine, it is claimed the main body is propelled 60 meters into the air.
Pressure Direct pressure of 7kg on the prongs or 3kg via a tripwire will initiate the landmine fuze.
Fragmentation Fragmentation is in the form of 5-millimetre metal balls that on detonation cover an area of around 50 metres in diameter.
Parachute It then descends with the aid of a parachute and detonates at around 15 to 25 meters above the ground.
