Description

The Type A Chinese Anti-Personnel Mine is a high-explosive (HE), anti-personnel, electronic, blast landmine with an electronic timer self-destruct (SD) and anti-opening feature.

Design The landmine body is made of olive green plastic.
Detonator The landmine uses a capacitor discharge firing circuit to initiate the detonator when one of three triggers occur.
Pressure Plate The pressure plate is depressed, the cover retaining ring is unscrewed (anti-open) or a multi-day self-destruct (SD) timer runs out will initiate the main charge.
Arming An aluminum arming plunger is inserted into a hole in the side of the landmine body.
Note A man-pack rocket launcher dispenser is used to disperse the landmines. The rocket has 36 Type A landmines placed in 12 layers of 3 landmines each.
