ELM-2270 OTH
The ELM-2270 OTH is an Over-The-Horizon Surface Wave (OTH SW) early warning radar that operates in the HF band. It functions as a long-range coastal surveillance system, designed to detect sea surface targets and low-flying aircraft far beyond the local horizon, with an instrumented range of 370 km (200 NM) and a range accuracy of 2 km. The radar utilizes separate transmit and receive antennas; the transmitting antenna covers a 120° sector simultaneously. Its receiving antennas form a phased array, employing digital beamforming to create a virtual antenna pattern, which allows for simultaneous monitoring of the entire sector, enhancing pulse integration and noise suppression.
