Description
The Rajendra is a C-band multifunction missile defense radar with a passive electronically scanned phased array, equipped with approximately 4,000 discrete radiating elements. It serves as the primary sensor for the Akash air defense system used by the Indian Armed Services and incorporates an X-band transmitter for missile command. With a peak power of 70 kW and an instrumented range of 80 km, it can simultaneously engage up to four targets within a 60-degree sector, guiding two missiles to each. The radar system is mounted on an 8x8 TATRA 813 chassis, manufactured under license by the Indian company Bharat Earth Movers.
