RN01 „Arbalet-52“

The RN01 "Arbalet-52" (Cyrillic: РН-01 «Арбалет», meaning "crossbow") is a multifunctional airborne radar operating in the Ku band (IEEE designation) or J band (NATO designation). Manufactured by Phazotron Scientific and Production Company, it is designed for the Kamov Ka-52 "Alligator" and Ka-60 "Kasatka" combat helicopters. This two-channel system features a large, mechanically swiveling Cassegrain antenna in the nose, which includes two L-band dipoles next to the sub-reflector for Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) functionality. A second, smaller antenna is mounted above the fuselage, providing 360-degree search capability to warn against approaching surface-to-air missiles.
