PRV-11 (Side Net) Russian Height-Finder Radar System
PRV-11

The PRV-11 radar (NATO name: SIDE NET) is a mobile, nodding height-finding radar operating in the E Band. The PRV-11 is a mobile, van-mounted mobile radar. It features clutter and asynchronous jamming protection. Weapons systems associated with the P-37 include the SA-2 GUIDELINE, SA-3 GOA and SA-5 GAMMON. --- Additional Data (TRADOC ODIN WEG) --- Frequency: 2.7 GHz (S, NATO Band E) Antenna Dimensions: 4 x 2.5 m Associated Weapon Systems: С-75 (S-75): В-750 / V-750; С-125 (S-125): 5В24 / 5V24 Role: Height-Finder Remarks: Early Soviet height-finder --- From Radartutorial.eu (https://www.radartutorial.eu/19.kartei/11.ancient/karte055.en.html) --- The PRV-11 „Vershina“ (Russian designation: 1RL119; Cyrillic: 1РЛ119 «Вершина»; NATO designator „Side Net“) was a radio altimeter of the former Warsaw Pact countries, developed and produced in the former Soviet Union since 1958. The radar was housed in three cabins. The transmitting-receiving cabin with the parabolic antenna was mounted on a KZU-16 type rotating mount and was usually placed on a small mounded hill. The viewing equipment cabin on a two-axle trailer was deployed somewhat apart from it. Another cabin on a two-axle trailer housed a power supply unit and workshop accessories. Altitude determination was carried out after target assignment by a panoramic surveillance radar or by an automated guidance and control system.
