AN/TPS-75
The AN/TPS-75 is a land-based tactical air defense radar, operating in the S-band (IEEE designation) or E/F-band (NATO designation) at frequencies between 2.9 and 3.1 GHz. An upgrade of the AN/TPS-43/70 radar family, it features significantly improved electronic protection measures, enhanced performance, and increased reliability and maintainability, with a mean time between critical failures (MTBCF) exceeding 1,500 hours. It incorporates an Ultra-Low Sidelobe Antenna (ULSA) to reduce sidelobe emissions by over 50%, thereby decreasing vulnerability to anti-radiation missiles, and utilizes Barker Phase Coded pulses for improved range accuracy and resolution. Pulse-to-pulse frequency diversity is employed to mitigate jamming, contributing to its instrumented range of 240 nautical miles and a peak power of 2.8 MW. This AN/TPS-43E upgrade is part of the USAF Seek Screen program, designed to provide the U.S. Air Force with surveillance and command, control, and communications capabilities into the 21st century.
