Description

The M1128 Mobile Gun System is an eight-wheeled armored vehicle of the Stryker armored fighting vehicle family and features a 105 mm tank gun. It is in service with the United States and was also being considered for adoption by several other countries. The M1128 is based on the hull of an M1126, however it carries a large-caliber gun. It is designed to support dismounted infantry and engage the enemy in close combat. The firepower is close to that of an older MBT, but the mobility on roads is much greater. This enables the vehicle to keep pace with a Stryker Brigade Combat Team (BCT) and clear opposition quickly to permit rapid movement.
