Design
The cylindrical metal body resembles a food can and has a single fuze well in the center of the top surface.
Charge
It contains a TNT main charge surrounded by metal fragments (such as chopped nails) cast into a wax matrix.
Fuze
The landmine uses a MUV-type fuze, which may be made in China, Russia or Vietnam.
The fuze consists of a tubular steel body containing a spring-loaded striker retained by a pin.
A stab-sensitive detonator assembly is screwed into the threaded base of the fuze.
Note
The landmine is normally mounted above ground level and is initiated using a tripwire attached to the striker retaining pin.
The striker is extended to accept a second safety pin which prevents initiation if the retaining pin is extracted.
The fuze body may also be encased in a plastic sleeve, through which the pins fit.
