Description

The Stormrider Polish Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV) is designed for a wide range of missions. It is capable of supporting reconnaissance, naval operations, critical infrastructure protection, and maritime surveillance. In force protection roles, it can establish security zones around ships, ports, or anchorages, responding rapidly to threats from fast surface craft. Its modular design allows for the integration of various payloads, including those for electronic warfare, environmental data collection, and the detection of chemical, biological, or radiological contamination. The Stormrider is also intended for cooperation with special operations forces. It can provide fire support, transport equipment and supplies, conduct medical evacuations in contested areas, and operate in specific environments such as the Vistula Lagoon or riverine zones. WB Group emphasizes its compatibility with other systems developed by the company, including the TOPAZ management system, WARMATE loitering munitions, and ZMU modules, which ensures seamless integration into a broader operational network. Its size allows for deployment from frigates, such as the upcoming Miecznik-class vessels, as well as from patrol ships operated by the navy and border guard.

Crew Unmanned. The system can be optionally manned, allowing use during testing phases or in areas where regulations require a human presence on board.
Reconnaissance Suite The reconnaissance suite consists of several key components: a navigation radar, sonar, echo sounder, and a high-resolution electro-optical turret that operates both during the day and at night. Additionally, it features a laser rangefinder and an electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) camera mounted on a mast. These systems provide enhanced maritime situational awareness, facilitate target identification, and support strike assessment.

Note The standard armament of the vessel includes a remotely controlled ZMU-05N weapon station, which is equipped with a 12.7 mm machine gun developed by Arex. This module features advanced electro-optical observation systems that enhance its autonomous engagement capabilities. Additionally, the vessel can be equipped with WARMATE loitering munitions in both TL-R and TL-C versions, enabling long-range strike capabilities. It can also carry X-FRONTER reconnaissance-attack drones in V and H variants, stored in sealed launch tubes on board. This combination allows the Stormrider to effectively conduct both surveillance and offensive operations.
