Description
The JYL-1 is a long-range 3D air surveillance radar operating in the S-band (IEEE designation) or E/F-band (NATO designation), with a frequency range of 2900 to 3100 MHz. It has an instrumented range of 450 km and a range resolution of 200 meters, with an accuracy of ±100 meters in range and 0.3 degrees in azimuth. The radar features a beamwidth of 1.5 degrees and a pulse repetition frequency of 430 Hz. It may be employed for air traffic control and management, such as an en-route radar. Between 2005 and 2013, Venezuela acquired 12 JYL-1 systems to replace its older AN/TPS-70 radars.
