Description
The DK-82 (Type 65) Chinese Projected Grenade is a high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT), recoilless, fin stabilized, projected grenade incorporating a setback-armed, impact-inertia-fired, base-detonating (BD) fuze fired from a smoothbore recoilless gun.

Design
The grenade has a tear-drop shaped body and could, initially, be mistaken for a mortar bomb, however, the tail boom is much longer and there is a locating ring around the four fixed tail fins behind which is a multi-perforated steel disc.
The nose cap (silver colored portion) is inert and is not part of the fuzing system, designed to prevent ricochets on impact.
Charge
The grenade when unfired, has the propelling charge, contained in cloth bags tied around the tail boom.
Note #1
This HEAT grenade is an inertia impact base detonating, fin-stabilized, shaped-charge grenade designed to be fired from the smooth bored 82mm Chinese Type 65 or Type 65-1 recoilless guns which are copies of the Soviet B-10.
Note #2
The Type 65 projected grenade should not be confused as a mortar (not fired via a mortar barrel), projectile (no driving band) or a rocket (no rocket motor).
