PS 890
The PS 890 "Erieye" (short for "Ericsson eye") is an S-band (IEEE designation) or E/F-band (NATO designation) side-looking airborne radar. Developed by Saab Electronic Defence Systems (formerly Ericsson Microwave Systems) of Sweden, it is integrated into an Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) system. This pulse-Doppler radar features a non-movable active electronically scanned array (AESA) antenna with 192 transmitter-receiver modules, providing 240 degrees of broadside coverage (2 x 120 degrees) on both sides of the aircraft up to an altitude of over 65,000 feet (>20 km) and an instrumented range of 250 nautical miles (450 km). The first units were delivered in 1996.
