Description
The MBV-78A2 Vietnamese Anti-Personnel Mine is a high-explosive (HE), small and simple anti-personnel (AP), fragmentation stake landmine.

Design
The fuze body is normally covered with a plastic sleeve.
This landmine is normally colored dark green.
The cylindrical plastic body has a plain and unthreaded fuze well in the center of the top surface.
The base of the landmine screws on and has two mounting lugs on each side for stake mounting.
The body of the MBV-78A2 houses a hollow cylindrical main charge.
Surrounding this charge is a layer of chopped steel pieces set in wax.

Striker
