SJ-231
The SJ-231 is a multifunctional missile guidance radar operating in the X-band (IEEE designation) or I-band (NATO designation) with an instrumented range of 80 nautical miles (150 km). It is designed for the KS-1A/HQ-12 air defense missile complex. Its passive phased-array antenna features over 3,000 individual radiators and utilizes digital beamforming on the receive path. The radar's signal processing can detect more than 100 targets, automatically track approximately 50, and simultaneously guide six HQ-10, HQ-15, HQ-9/FD-2000, and HQ-9/FT-2000 air defense missiles. The system is mounted on an 8×8 TAS 5501 “Taian” truck with a 30-ton load capacity, and its antenna hydraulically folds for transport.
