The N007 "Zaslon" (NATO designation: "Flash Dance"), also known by the manufacturer's designation BRLS-8B (Bortovaya radiolokatsionnaya stantsiya), is an X-band (IEEE) or I-band (NATO) all-weather, multi-purpose airborne radar. Developed by NIIP between 1975 and 1980 for the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-31 supersonic fighter aircraft's weapon control system, it has an instrumented range of 220 nautical miles (approximately 400 km). The system features a circular passive phased array antenna, measuring 1.1 or 1.4 meters in diameter and weighing 300 kg, with an electronic scanning sector of ±70 degrees in azimuth and +70/–60 degrees in elevation. The radar was publicly presented at the International Paris Air Show at Orly in 1991.
