Description
The 29B6 "Container" is a bistatic Over-The-Horizon (OTH) surface wave radar operating in the high-frequency (HF) band (3-30 MHz). Its transmitter is located near Gorodets, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia, while the receiving antenna and main radar components are situated near Kovylkino in the Republic of Mordovia, Russia. The receiving antenna system spans 1,300 meters in length and 200 meters in depth, comprising 144 antenna-feeder masts, each 34 meters high. This radar system can detect air targets at ranges exceeding 3,000 kilometers, at altitudes up to 100 kilometers, with a 240-degree field of view.
