Sea Giraffe AMB
The Sea Giraffe AMB (Agile Multi-Beam) is a C-band (5.4-5.9 GHz) naval 3D multi-function search radar with a peak power of 25 kW and an instrumented range of 180 km. It operates with an antenna rotation of 30 or 60 rpm. This radar provides air and surface surveillance and tracking, target indication for ship weapon systems, and high-resolution mapping capabilities. It employs a stacked beam solution with 12 simultaneous receiver beams in elevation, utilizing a monopulse technique for accurate elevation calculation. Optimized for vessels like the Swedish Visby Class corvette and the US Littoral Combat Ship Independence class, the version installed on the LCS Independence Class is designated AN/SPS-77 (V)1. A software-optimized variant for air traffic control, designated AN/SPN-50 (V)1, is also in service on US aircraft carriers.
