Description
The SR-5 Chinese 220mm Multiple Rocket Launcher (MRL) is based on the rear of a Chinese TA 5310 (6×6) cross-country chassis fitted with a four-door unprotected forward control cab. Mounted on the rear of this chassis is a power-operated turntable rocket launcher, which can accept two pods of surface-to-surface rockets, that is, one pod of 20×122 mm rockets and one pod of six 220 mm rockets. Two pods of either rockets in a single-calibre configuration can also be fitted. Prior to launching the surface-to-surface rockets, two hydraulically operated stabilisers are lowered to the ground, one on either side at the rear of the vehicle by remote control.
