Atlas 9600M

The Atlas 9600M is a naval navigation radar system operating in the S-band at 3050 MHz and/or X-band, featuring extensive data processing and display peripherals, including an Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS). Its 30 kW peak power transmitters generate both short pulses for close ranges and long pulses for maximum range, up to an instrumented range of 25 nautical miles (46 km). The S-band antenna is a 4.3-meter wide waveguide slot antenna with a 1.7-degree beamwidth and 23 rpm rotation, while X-band options include 1.7-meter or 2.6-meter waveguide slot antennas; all antennas utilize linear horizontal polarization. The S-band capability ensures reliable radar navigation even in heavy rain, which can attenuate and render the more precise X-band unusable.
