Description
The Thales RSM 970 S is an advanced Monopulse Mode S interrogator, a type of Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) operating at 1030 / 1090 MHz. Developed in France, it can be configured as either an MSSR or a dedicated Mode S sensor. Its Mode S functions include selective interrogation, enhanced surveillance, and full data link capabilities, with an instrumented range of up to 256 nautical miles (approximately 300 km) and a range resolution of 15 meters. The system's validated elements have undergone extensive operational and technical testing, demonstrating its performance.
