Description

The Caterpillar 130G grader has been in service with the US military for more than 30 years. It was adopted by the US military in the late 1970s. Basically it was a standard commercial construction machine, with some minor modifications in order to suit military requirements. The Caterpillar company had no special military version of the 130G grader.

Graders create fine "finish grade", while the "rough grading" is performed by bulldozers, scrappers, or other military engineer vehicles. The Caterpillar 130G was designed for construction and maintenance of dirt and gravel roads. This machine can prepare the base course to create a wide flat surface for paved roads. It can also produce inclined surface to give cant to roads, or produce drainage ditches. Additional front blade and rear ripper can be attached.
