CGA-2000
The CGA-2000 (Ground Control Approach - 2000) is an X-band, all-weather surveillance and precision approach radar system, fully compliant with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards. Suitable for both civil and military applications, it offers multi-runway coverage, height-finding capabilities, and remote control. The system utilizes an active rotating phased array antenna architecture with gallium arsenide transmit/receive modules, an instrumented range of 30 nautical miles, and an antenna rotation speed of 60 revolutions per minute. Real-time system control is managed via fiber optic links, and it features high-resolution digital color workstations with raster-scan displays, allowing controllers to individually assign Air Surveillance Radar (ASR) or Precision Approach Radar (PAR) modes based on traffic needs. Its design incorporates commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) processors and power supplies for cost-effectiveness and reliability, boasting a mean time between critical failures (MTBCF) of 2212 hours and a mean time to repair (MTTR) of 0.25 hours. A high-mobility version, the AN/MPN-25, is designed for tactical area surveillance and precision approach landing, controlling the immediate vicinity of an airport or airbase, and includes a secondary radar with an independently rotating antenna. A PAR-only variant is also available, designated PAR-2020 or AN/FPN-68.
