Type Anti-Personnel Grenade
Manufacturer INA
Time Delay When employed as a hand grenade, it functions with a simple 3-5 second time delay fuze before detonating. After a 60 to 120-second delay, the five perforated portions of the outer casing are forced downwards, stabilizing the body, righting the munition and then deploying four 10-metre-long tripwires that function the landmine when disturbed.
Self-Destruct Timer The MIB has a 3-100 hour variable self-destruct (SD) timer, as well as a chemical fail-safe which renders the landmine inert after no more than 120 days.
Note #1 MIB (Многофункциональный боеприпас) meaning multi-function munition is often described as a grenade landmine incorporating the means of delivery as a hand grenade with the explosive properties and firing mechanism of an anti-personnel (AP) landmine.
Note #2 The munition’s functioning as a landmine is similar to that of the POM-2 scatterable anti-personnel (AP) landmine.
