Description
The Castor 2 is an X-band naval fire-control radar with a peak power of 80 kW, a pulse width of 4 µs, and an instrumented range of 25 km. At least six variants exist, designated by suffixes A through E and J. These compact, lightweight systems are suitable for installation on both small and large vessels, with the French Navy designating them as DRBC-32. The Castor 2J variant, known as CTM (Conduit de Tir Multi-sensor), integrates a TV camera and an infrared camera, adapting it for the Crotale NG fire control system and serving as both gunnery and missile fire control on La Fayette-class frigates.
