Description
The ELM-2221 is a naval fire control radar operating in both X-band and Ka-band frequencies, with an instrumented range of 30 km and antenna rotation speeds of 12 or 20 rpm. It functions as a Search, Track, and Guidance/Gunnery Radar (STGR), utilizing a Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) transmitter and a Cassegrain antenna. The dual-band configuration employs the Ka-band for highly accurate tracking and the X-band for illuminating targets for semi-active missiles. An X-band only variant, designated ELM-2221X, is also available, and all configurations include a TV or a TV plus infrared (IR) package.
