Description

The 1L260 Zoopark-1M is mobile artillery locating radar system designed to detect artillery rocket positions even in heavy electronic countermeasures (ECM) environments. Besides, the 1L260 can detect mortar and howitzer gunfire sources as well as tactical ballistic missiles launch pads. The radar system is mounted on a tracked armored chassis and includes a maintenance vehicle. Besides, the system can provide assistance for friendly artillery systems helping them to adjust their gunfire to effectively hit their designated target. The 1L260 radar system can detect a 155mm artillery shell at a range of 23 kilometers or 27 kilometers for 203mm shells. It can detect artillery rockets at ranges between 32 and 45 kilometers. An ATACMS-sized tactical ballistic missile can be detected at a range of 65 kilometers. The 1L260 can be ready for deployment or evacuation in five minutes while operating for over eight hours tracking up to 12 targets simultaneously. In azimuth, it covers a sector of 2.5 to 90-degree. --- Additional Data (TRADOC ODIN WEG) --- Frequency: 2–4 GHz (S, NATO Band E/F) Antenna Dimensions: 7 x 2.5 m Associated Weapon Systems: Артиллерия (Artillery): 2С19 / 2S19, 2С5 / 2S5, БМ-21 / BM-21 Role: Counter-Battery Radar Remarks: Modernized Zoopark, improved automation --- From Radartutorial.eu (https://www.radartutorial.eu/19.kartei/04.battle/karte069.en.html) --- 1L260 „Zoopark-1M“ is a fully coherent mortar locating radar operating in the C band (IEEE designation) or in the G band (NATO designation) with electronic beam steering . The radar was publicly presented for the first time in August 2017. The name suggests that it is a modernization or further development of the 1L219 Zoopark-1 , but at least the antenna is obviously a completely new development. The coordinates’ accuracy is between 49 and 95 meters, depending on the size of the projectile.

1L219 Zoopark-1; 1L259 Zoopark-1 is a three-dimensional (3-D) multifunction phased-array artillery location radar for use on the battlefield. The system tracks projectiles, calculates their trajectory, pinpoints the position of enemy artillery and transfers the information to associated fire-control systems for counter-b attery fire. The complete Zoopark-1 system is understood to comprise a 1L259 3D monopulse radar mounted on an MT-LBu tracked chassis, a 1L30 maintenance vehicle (based on the Ural-43203 truck chassis), and a trailer-mounted ED30-T230P-1RPM generator. The 1L259 antenna is stowed flat for travel and can be raised into the operating position without the crew leaving their vehicle. A power take‐off from the MT‐LBu's main engine provides a 30 kW power supply for the radar. Alternatively for static operations, the radar can be powered by a 30 kW stand‐by generator towed behind the accompanying service truck.
