Fuze
The fuze is set for pressure actuation by screwing the setting screw inward until it is flush with the top of the plunger.
The fuze can be actuated by pull regardless of the screw setting. The fuze is armed by removing the safety bar. Pressure on the plunger moves it downward, forcing the flange of the setting screw against the striker.
Detonator
A detonator is placed in the primer-detonator housing and the fuze is screwed into an emplaced landmine. The spider is then attached to the top of the No. 4 landmine.
Tripwire
If desired, a slack tripwire is attached to the tripwire pulling.
Note
The No. 4 landmine was previously referred to as the No. 8 landmine and the No. 8 landmine was referred to as the No. 4 landmine.
