Type 911
The Type 911 is a naval, dual-frequency (X-band and K-band) differential tracking radar, specifically designed to support the engagement envelope of the Seawolf missile. It excels at detecting low-elevation targets, such as sea-skimming missiles, and operates effectively in cluttered environments. The X-band tracking antenna, derived from the ST800 radar family, utilizes a Cassegrain reflector with a wide-angle four-horn monopulse feed. The K-band component, adapted from the land-based Blindfire tracking radar, features a magnetron transmitter with a coherent-on-receive digital Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) signal processor, a configuration also used by the X-band part. The radar has an instrumented range of 18 nautical miles (approximately 33 kilometers).
