Description

The SharpEye™ Naval Radar Transceiver is a new-generation I- and E/F-band radar designed for navigation and short-range tactical surveillance, exceeding the International Maritime Organization's (IMO) Radar Performance Standard IEC 62388. The I-band variant, with a beamwidth of 1.8 degrees and antenna rotation speeds of 12, 24, or 46 rpm, is intended to replace existing Type 1007 and similar I-band navigation radars on surface warships and logistics vessels. Utilizing a solid-state power amplifier with 200 W peak power and 20-25 W average power, it transmits internally modulated pulses with pulsewidths ranging from 50 to 400 ns and pulse repetition frequencies from 350 to 3000 Hz. This system achieves approximately 30 dB improvement in sub-clutter visibility compared to conventional non-coherent I-band radars, enabling detection of small radar cross-section targets (0.5 m²) in heavy sea and rain clutter, making it effective for early detection of asymmetric threats like Fast Inshore Attack Crafts (FIACs) by separating targets from clutter based on differing radial velocity components using a Doppler filter bank of up to 1024 filters.
