TAMNAVA Serbian 122mm/262mm Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS)
TAMNAVA

The TAMNAVA Serbian 122mm/262mm Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) is designed as a modular system, allowing for flexible configurations. Its modularity is evidenced by its capability to utilize launch pod containers that can be armed with either 262 mm rockets or all variants of the 122 mm rocket. This fully automated system incorporates an advanced Fire Control System (FCS) that features automatic line of sight, inertial navigation system (INS) navigation, an artillery reconnaissance electronic goniometer, and an automatic system for aligning the launcher to the reference azimuth. It is also equipped with meteorological sensors and radio systems for TCP/IP and UDP voice and data transfer, as well as a modern ballistic computer. These capabilities enable fully autonomous operation of the MLRS and the execution of pre-programmed combat missions. The automated system is capable of independently engaging targets, which allows for rapid fire and immediate repositioning to enhance survivability in active combat and electronic warfare environments. Furthermore, it integrates an electronic trigger that supports single or salvo firing and provides real-time feedback on the type of rockets loaded and the status of the launcher tubes. This information allows commanders and higher command levels to plan missions and logistics effectively in real time. The baseline configuration utilizes reusable 122 mm launch containers but also offers the option to use disposable 122 mm launch containers. The MLRS can accommodate two spare 122 mm launch containers, and loading and unloading of the launch system are performed by a crane mounted on the vehicle platform. For added self-protection, the system is equipped with laser radiation warning sensors and a smoke grenade launcher.
