Scarabee French 4x4 Light Armored Vehicle
Scarabee

The Scarabee French 4x4 Light Armored Vehicle is designed for modern armies that aim to equip themselves with light, highly mobile, and heavily armed units. Thanks to its exceptional mobility, the Scarabee can move quickly over vast terrains, as well as navigate confined or urban environments. It is the first hybrid combat vehicle that can operate entirely on electricity, reducing both its acoustic and thermal signatures. This armored vehicle is built to support various missions, including tank guidance, rapid response operations, light cavalry engagements, anti-tank roles, hunter-killer tactics, fire support, urban combat, and special forces deployments. The design provides the pilot, who is seated in a forward central position, with a 200° field of visibility, enhancing awareness of surroundings and improving detection of improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Additionally, the Arquus Hornet remote-controlled weapon system (RCWS) contributes to greater accuracy and improved situational awareness, both day and night. The Scarabee can be air-dropped from the LTCO12 platform, making it mission-ready within 15 minutes. Its compact design and independent rear wheel steering allow the vehicle to execute short and tight U-turns in confined spaces such as alleys and wooded areas.
