LD-3000 (Type 1130) Chinese Close-In Weapon System (CIWS)
LD-3000 (Type 1130)

The LD-3000 Chinese Close-In Weapon System (CIWS) is designed to defend against aerial threats, including rockets, artillery, and mortars. This system features a 30 mm cannon mounted on a truck trailer and is guided to its targets using a tracking radar and electro-optical sight package. The LD-3000 represents an evolution of the similarly equipped 8x8 LD-2000, which is known to be in service with the People's Liberation Army. A significant improvement of the LD-3000 is the integration of both surveillance and tracking radars onto the platform, eliminating the need for offboard data feeds. According to NORINCO, the LD-3000 can engage low-flying aircraft traveling at speeds of up to 600 m/s (1,165 knots) and cruise missiles traveling at speeds of Mach 2.5. It is also capable of targeting air-to-ground missiles, artillery, rockets, and mortars. The vehicle is transported to its deployment location by a heavy equipment transporter (HET) that pulls a semi-trailer. Once on the ground, the LD-3000 is powered by its own integral power unit.
