Description
The Sandhayak Class Indian Survey Vessel is a series of four survey vessels being built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata, for the Indian Navy. The primary role of the ship would be to conduct coastal and deep-water hydrographic surveys of ports, navigational channels, and exclusive economic zones and collect oceanographic data for defense. Their secondary roles would be to perform search and rescue, ocean research, and function as hospital ships for casualties.
