Terminal Area Radar RL-64 I
The Terminal Area Radar RL-64 I is an S-band Airport Surveillance Radar designed for air traffic control within an airport's terminal area, detecting targets up to 120 km (65 nautical miles). Operating at frequencies between 2700 and 2900 MHz with an antenna rotation of 15 rpm, the system comprises an Antenna Unit, Radar Head Electronics, and Dispatcher Room Equipment. Key subsystems are duplicated to enhance reliability, and it utilizes proprietary Adaptive Moving Target Indication (AMTI) technology for optimal parameter adjustment and target data processing. Displayed on large-screen LCD monitors, the system also integrates VHF/UHF transceivers, a Recording/Reply Unit, and a fully implemented Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) Unit in its basic configuration. The RL-64 I features a modular structure, can operate on two alternative power sources with an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) covering short dropouts, and complies with all ICAO and EUROCONTROL recommendations.
