KORAL Turkish Land-Based Radar Electronic Warfare System
KORAL

The KORAL Land Based Radar Electronic Warfare System, developed by the Turkish defense company Aselsan, is an electronic countermeasures system designed to jam and deceive conventional and complex types of hostile radar systems across the S-band to K-band frequency range, with an effective range of approximately 150 km. It comprises two 8x8 military trucks, one housing the Radar Electronic Support (ES) system and the other a multi-Radar Electronic Attack (EA) system. These systems can be positioned up to 500 meters apart. Both systems feature modular designs and digital radio frequency memory (DRFM) capability, enabling them to analyze multiple target signals in a wide frequency range and automatically generate appropriate responses to traditional and emerging threats with high parameter measurement accuracy and fast system response. The KORAL system is operated by two operators and a supervisor within a NATO-compliant, NBC-protected Operation Control Unit, and offers optional Mission Planning and Analysis Tools. It is designed to operate in challenging environmental conditions, including temperatures from -30 °C to +50 °C and 95% humidity. The system was delivered to the Turkish Air Force in February 2016 and has been deployed near the Syrian border.
