Description

The Dalyan is an X-band naval navigation and search radar designed for submarines. Its antenna, distinct from the Alper radar, can withstand 60 bars of hydrostatic pressure and features low radar cross-section (RCS) characteristics, which can be further reduced by an optional frequency-selective surface radome with low insertion loss. The 1-meter antenna utilizes a horizontally polarized cosecant-squared shaped beam, tilted to direct maximum energy towards the horizon, and employs a monopulse beamforming structure to enhance azimuth direction finding. The radar offers selectable average power outputs of 1 W, 0.1 W, 10 mW, or 1 mW, an instrumented range of 36 nautical miles (approximately 66 km), and an antenna rotation speed exceeding 20 revolutions per minute, with a mean time between critical failures (MTBCF) of 10,000 hours.
