The Model 1 Iranian Anti-Personnel Grenade is a high-explosive (HE), striker release, pyrotechnic delayed, fragmentation grenade which uses 3,800 steel balls for increased effect.

Operation Wait at least 30 minutes before approaching a suspected misfired grenade. Dampness or deterioration may prolong the burning time of the pyrotechnic delay, or by a hung striker overcoming a mechanical obstruction and functioning the grenade as designed. Disturb an armed grenade by remote means only. The striker may be hung, rendering the fuze extremely sensitive to movement.
