Description

The Saber M60 is an L-band 3D battlefield radar designed for air surveillance and target acquisition, with an instrumented range of 60 km and an accuracy of 50 meters in range and 2 degrees in azimuth. It operates with an antenna rotation speed of 15 revolutions per minute. This system is intended for integration with air traffic control and low-altitude anti-aircraft defense systems, serving as a gap filler or for troop self-protection. The name Saber (Sistema de Acompanhamento de alvos aéreos Baseado em Emissão de Radiofrequência, or Aerial target monitoring system based on high-frequency radiation) reflects the overarching development concept for Brazilian radars.
