Description

The Raymarine RD418HD is an X-band (IEEE) or I-band (NATO) naval navigation radar. It operates at a frequency of 9405 ± 25 MHz with a peak power of 4 kW and an instrumented range of 48 nautical miles (89 km). The radar features a patch antenna array enclosed within an 18-inch diameter radome, rotating at either 24 or 48 revolutions per minute. A variant, the RD424HD, uses a slightly larger antenna in a 24-inch radome. The RD418HD is employed by the U.S. Navy on submarines, where it is designated AN/BPS-17(V)1.
