Dorado
The Dorado is a naval Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave (FMCW) radar system designed for maritime navigation and surveillance, operating in the X-band at 9.41 GHz. It is available in four versions, varying in size and transmitting peak power, with an average power of 0.2 or 0.4 W. The system utilizes separate antennas for transmission and reception, with beamwidths ranging from 3° to 5°, and connects to displays via twisted-pair Ethernet cables. Standard radome dimensions are 29 inches in diameter and 15 inches in height, though the Dorado LP42B version features a larger 42-inch by 24-inch radome, offering an instrumented range of 23 nautical miles (approximately 43 km) and a range resolution of 2 meters, with antenna rotation speeds of 24 or 50 revolutions per minute.
