PPRU-M1-2 Russian Air Target Reconnaissance and Control Post
PPRU-M1

The PPRU-M1-2 is a modernized variant of the original PPRU. It is believed to be in service with the Russian Ground Forces and was first revealed in 2007. The vehicle is designed to provide the target detection and acquisition for up to three air defense batteries using either missiles or cannons. The PPRU-1M-2 replaces the analog Dog Ear Radar with the VNIIRT 9S80M1-2 X-band radar. --- Additional Data (TRADOC ODIN WEG) --- Frequency: 2–4 GHz (S, NATO Band E/F) Antenna Dimensions: 2.5 x 2.5 m Associated Weapon Systems: Оса-АКМ (Osa-AKM): 9М33М3 / 9M33M3; Стрела-10 (Strela-10): 9М333 / 9M333 Role: SHORAD Command Post/3D Surveillance Remarks: Digital upgrade for Osa/Strela-10 --- From Radartutorial.eu (https://www.radartutorial.eu/19.kartei/04.battle/karte076.en.html) --- The PPRU-1M-2 “Ovod-M-SV” (from: Podvizhnyy Punkt Razvedki i Upravleniya - “Mobile Reconnaissance and Command Post,” Cyrillic: ППРУ-1 «Овод-М-СВ», GRAU index : 9S80M1-2) is a ground-based 3D surveillance and target acquisition radar operating in the X-Band (IEEE designation) or I-Band (NATO designation). Mounted on an MT-LB multi-purpose tracked vehicle or an MT-LBu armored command and reconnaissance vehicle, this radar controls anti-aircraft missile batteries at the regimental level, including units such as ZSU-23-4M4 “Shilka-M4,” 9K35M2 “Strela-10M2,” 9K35M3 “Strela-10M3,” and 2K22M1 “Tunguska-M1.” Besides coordinating self-propelled combat units, the 9S80M1-2 can also assign targets to systems like 9K32M “Strela-2M,” 9K34 “Strela-3,” 9K310 “Igla-1,” and 9K38 “Igla.” Unveiled at MAKS 2007, this vehicle evolved from its predecessor, the PPRU-1 , and features a completely new solid-state radar. It can automatically track up to 50 targets and engage 20 of them.
